Respect, never fix
Autism is a difference, not a disease. The aim is wellbeing, not changing who someone is.
About your practitioner
Clinician, educator and researcher in functional medicine and functional neurology, specialising in gut, hormonal and brain-based imbalances.
Why this clinic exists
Autistic people are far more likely to live with poor sleep, gut problems and anxiety, and these are too often put down to "just autism". Alan's practice takes them seriously and looks for what is driving them.
He works with autistic children and their families, and with autistic adults, including people diagnosed later in life. He works alongside GPs, paediatricians and specialist teams. Alongside the Autism Clinic, Alan practises osteopathy in Llandudno and Menai Bridge.
Four principles
01
Autism is a difference, not a disease. The aim is wellbeing, not changing who someone is.
02
A detailed history from you, and from parents or carers where helpful, before anything is suggested.
03
Sleep, gut, nutrition, sensory needs and stress are looked at as one connected picture.
04
Changes are paced and practical, and fit around sensory needs and food preferences.
Working together
We don't diagnose autism. Diagnosis is made by a specialist multidisciplinary team. With your permission, we share our findings with your GP or specialist.
The baseline profile, history and lifestyle review.
Targeted lab testing, only where useful.
Sleep, gut and nutrition support that fits real life.
Follow-up consultations and retesting.
Start with an Autism Discovery Consultation. It includes a 50-question baseline profile of how autism shows up for you or your child, plus a review of sleep, stress, diet and any past blood tests.
The Discovery Consultation is an unhurried conversation, online or in clinic in Llandudno.
